DIANE   Tom! How does it feel to have a degree then!

TOM      Great! The problem is what to do next.

DIANE   Haven’t you made your mind up yet?

TOM      Not really.

DIANE   So what are you thinking about?

TOM      Well, my dad wants me to become an accountant like him.

DIANE   Well, you’ll make a lot of money if you do that.

TOM      Yes, but I’ll have to work really hard and go on doing exams for a few years. And I’m not really interested in the money.

DIANE   So if you don’t do that, what will you do?

TOM      I’d like to do a drama course and go into acting.

DIANE   Mmm ... yes, I suppose it might not really be the right job for you.

TOM      I did a lot of acting at university and I really enjoyed it, but I don’t know if I’m good enough to act professionally.

DIANE   You’ll never know unless you try.

TOM      That’s true. I think I’ll apply for a course. If I don’t get in, then I’ll think about accountancy.

DIANE   Good luck then.

TOM      Thanks. I’ll let you know as soon as I’m famous.
