Take - GE 9 Unit 6





Take responsibility
I take full responsibility for the accident.

Take for granted = menuntut tanpa terima kasih
My children take me for granted. I never get a word of thanks.

Take out on = mengalihkan sasaran kelelahan atau kemarahan
Just because you are angry with your boss, don’t take it out on me.


Take at face value = menerima begitu saja tanpa menyelidik
I took the offer at face value without checking the details.


Take the time
She took the time to talk to everyone in the room.

Take an interest in = menaruh ketertaikan atau minat
She took an interest in his work.


Take notice of = menaruh perhatian
I asked him to be quiet, but he didn’t take any notice.

Tike sides = berpihak
My mother never takes sides when my brother and I argue.


Take advantage
He always use your car. I think he is taking advantage of you.

Take seriously
Don’t take what he said seriously.

Not take no for an answer = memaksa
It is clear she doesn’t want to go out with him, but he just will not take no for an answer.


Example:


I usually take a long time to do my homework.

He never listens to my advice. I just don’t think he takes me seriously.

I never take my parents for granted. I think they are amazing and I often tell them so.

Rachel never takes sides when her children argue with each other.
