Circle of Friendship - EC 3 - 7

I always think it is nice to socialise with the people you work with.
It is not a good idea to date someone from work, though.

I find I go out with friends almost every night.
It is good to spend some times at home, though.

I try not to get too friendly with my neighbours.
It is important to get along with them, though.

I enjoy making new friends all the time.
You shouldn’t forget about your old friends, though.

I spend most of my free time at home by myself.
It is not good to spend too much time alone, though.

Circle of friends
Think about:
How you met and why you become friends.
What your friends are like.
What you have in common.
What you do together.

My best friend from high school

R is a friend I met on my first day of high school.
We sat next to each other in art class.
Neither of us was very good at art,
But we had a good time together in class.
He is very easy going.
He is the kind of guy who gets along with everyone.
We are both science-fiction fans.
So we spend a lot of time at the movies.

---

We are both …
Both of us are …

We both like ..
Both of us like …

Neither of us was good at …

He talks about his circle of friendship.

My running buddy …
Well, A is the guy I run with in the morning.
He is the one who got me started running when I was in college.
It is convenient because he lives right down the street.

My most exciting friend …
B is another friend from college.
B plays in a rock band that is really hot right now,
So her life is very different from mine.

My room mate …
C is a guy that B introduced me to.
He was looking for an apartment to share.
It is great because he is a clean freak.
I have never lived in a place that is so clean.

A friend from work ,..
D is an interesting woman who sits across from me at work.
She used to have a company that planned weddings for people.
She has some funny stories to tell.

A new friend …
Then there is E.
She is a new friend I met through A.
She is cool.
She is the kind of person you can just call and say “
“You want to go see a movie tonight?”
That kind of thing.

My oldest friend …
F is someone I grew up with.
We have been through a lot together.
I can tell him just about anything.
He is just someone I can totally trust.

Remind
Who is your closest friend?
How did you met?
Do you have any friends that you met through other friends?
Do you keep in touch with any of the friends who have exciting lives? Explain why.
Do you have friends you chat with online? Where do they live?
Do you have any friends who are different from you?
How are they different?

He discovered that A was a member.
He wrote her an email, and she wrote back right away.
It turned out that A was still single and was looking for him, too.
They made plans to meet at a restaurant in her city.

S and A grew up in a small town called G.
In high school, they hung out with the same crowd.
They got along very well, and they started going out together.
A was S’s first love, and he was her first love, too.

When S was 35, he was ready to settle down with someone, but no one seemed right.
He still thought about A.
Then he heard about a Web site that helps people find old classmates.
He signed up immediately.

But the long-distance relationship didn’t work out, and they decided to break up.
A year later, A’s family moved away from G, and S lost touch with her.

When they saw each other, and the old memories came back, and they started going out again.
Within a few months, they were married, and they are now living happily ever after.
Sometimes your first love turns out to be the best.

After they graduated, A went away to college, while S attended a college nearby.
They would get together about once a month, when A flew back home to visit her parents.
