Sale Shopping

Why not try our new range of skin care products? You will not be disappointed.
Our autumn sale starts on Monday. Everything must go.
I am afraid we haven’t got any blue suitcases in stock. Shall I order one for you?
This TV I bought yesterday doesn’t work. Can I have a refund?
We haven’t got any red shirts in this shop. I could find out whether another branch has any in red.
The garden centre has taken 20% off the price of their garden furniture.
Green ‘s is a great place to buy carpets. They give discount of at least 30% on orders over $500.
You must have a receipt if you want to return refund bought in this shop.
Beautiful hand-made leather belts from only 10 euros.
I bought this designer suit in the sale for $100. It was a real bargain.

Is there a branch of a big department store near you?
Have you ever bought anything that had 50% off.
Do you look for discounts when you are buying electrical equipment or clothes ?
If you want something that is not in stock, do you order it or go somewhere else?
What is the best discount you have ever bought?
Have you ever taken something back and asked for a refund?
What is the most interesting product you have bought this year?

When a shop sell things cheaper than usual = sale
Reduced = off
This price or more = from $
Something that is cheaper than usual = a bargain
The amount prices are reduced by = discounts
Things sold in a shop = products
One of a number of shops that are part of the same company =branch
The total number of things you can buy in a shop = stock
Money that you get back when you return something  you have bought = refund
Things that you can buy = goods

I have been to A about 8 or 9 times.
And you can’t argue with the prices.
Everything is so cheap compared to other places.
But I am not a fan of the place, I must admit.
I love the things they sell.
It is good quality and well design and all that, but I don’t like shopping here.
I would prefer to have more personal service.
There is never anyone to help which I find kind of annoying.
And on a Saturday the queues they are enormous.
I have got no patience at all and I stand there and get angry.
And putting the stuff together drives me crazy.
All that time standing in the queue and then you get home, start putting it together, and there are always bits missing.
How frustrating is that?

A is more like a supermarket than a department store.
I mean at A you get your trolley, your big blue bag, and away you go.
They aren’t many assistants, so no one is asking you if you want any help all the time.
I hate that.
I just want people to let me walk around on my own.
But I always seem to buy lots of little things like candles, glasses, and plants, stuff that I didn’t actually plan to buy.
But you can furnish an entire house in a day.
It wasn’t a house actually.
We rented an unfurnished flat and there was nothing in it obviously.
So I went to A and bought loads of things and just took them home in the back of the car.
We were able to put all the furniture together quite easily.
By the evening, we had a furnished flat and everything was like really cheap.
I mean what more do you want from a store?
