Sleeping






I have stories and pictures in my head while I am sleeping.
I had a very strange dream last night.
I fell asleep on the train home.
I was asleep on the flight home.
I woke up at 6.30 this morning.
I stopped sleeping at 3 p.m.
It usually take me half an hour to get to sleep.
I started sleeping again after I have woke up.
It take  me a long time to get back to sleep.
He breathe in a very noisy way when he is sleeping.
He was snoring loudly so I could not get to sleep.
I am completely asleep.
The children were fast asleep when we got home.
I am completely awake .
I was wide awake at 3 a.m. last night.
Many people in the UK have insomnia.
They are not able to get to sleep.
I didn’t sleep a wink last night . I didn’t sleep et all.
I had frightening dreams last night.
I had a terrible nightmare last night.
I am a heavy sleeper. Nothing can wake up me. I am someone who doesn’t wake up easily.
I am a light sleeper. I am someone who wake up easily.
I always take a nap (have a nap) after lunch.
I always have a short sleep in the day.
I fall asleep slowly in the day or when I don’t have plan to sleep.
I was so tired; I dozed off in the middle of the meeting.

  
Tiredness cause more than 50% of all road accidents in the USA.
30% people in the UK have problems getting to sleep or staying asleep.
Nowadays people are sleeping   one and a half hours less than they did 100 years ago.
Teenagers need more sleep than adults.
We use about the same amount of energy when we’re asleep compared to when  we are resting.

A thirty-minute nap at work can improve people’s performance for a few hours.


I don’t know because I never remember anything in the morning. 
She doesn't have a dream.
 

It was so loud I didn’t sleep a wink all night!
Her husband was snoring.

What time did you come in? I didn’t hear a thing.
She was fast asleep.

If we go to the cinema at half past ten, I probably won’t see the end of the film!
He think he might  doze off.

I’m a bit tired. I might lie down for half an hour.
She's going to have a nap.

I never get up until after ten on Saturdays. It’s a wonderful day. 
She likes having a lie-in.



Well, sometimes I read, make myself a cup of herbal tea, but most of the time I just worry. 
He's got insomnia.

The phone rang at about three o’clock and after that I was wide awake, so in the end I just got up.
He couldn't get back to sleep.

They stole my camera, my wallet and my passport but I didn’t wake up.
He's a heavy sleeper.

She woke up screaming at about midnight, saying something about spiders.
She was having a nightmare

 

Last night I was fast asleep by 11 p.m., but I woke up again at 1 a.m.

Even though I was exhausted when I went to bed, I was suddenly wide awake, and it was impossible to get back to sleep again.

So I just lay there, watching the clock change from 3 to 4 to 5 without sleeping a wink.

It was very frustrating.

Finally I got up at 5 a.m. and went off to work feeling terrible,

That’s a typical night for me.

I have had insomnia for so long.

I am amazed that anyone else actually sleep throughout the night.

And when this goes for too many nights, I feel really shattered.

I am a sales manager

And I work really long hours

And have to do a lot of travelling.

I worry about work all the time, which makes it incredibly difficult to get to sleep.

Sometimes I get home from work extremely late

and when I go to bed everything is still going round my head.

Money is also a huge worry for me.

I have tried nearly everything to cure my insomnia: herbal teas, yoga, meditation, - you name it.

I have also started going to the gym 3 times a week, but it hasn’t made any difference.

I have a fairly healthy diet and I don’t smoke or drink coffee.

I haven’t tried hypnosis because it is very expensive and that would just add to my money worries.

I don’t want to start taking sleeping pills because I am terrified of becoming addicted to them

Although I know it is an awful way to live.

I have learned to accept that insomnia is part of my life.
